Luzerne County Detective Division:
The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Detective Division investigate criminal activity which occurs throughout Luzerne County. They act as a liaison between federal, state and local law enforcement and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office. Municipal Police Officers' Education & Training Commission (MPOETC):
The Municipal Police Officers’ Education & Training Commission was established in 1974 to set certification and training standards for police officers employed by municipalities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Amber Alert Plan is a method of alerting citizens of Pennsylvania when a child has been abducted.  The program was developed for Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania State Police and named after 9 year old Amber Hagerman who was abducted while playing near her home in Texas and subsequently murdered in 1996. Pennsylvania’s Missing Endangered Person Advisory System (MEPAS) is a method of alerting citizens that a person is missing who is at special risk of harm or injury. An alert is sent to local media for distribution to the public, and also to local law enforcement, to assist in the recovery of the missing person.

Domestic Violence Service Center:
DVSC provides emergency shelter and transitional housing, DVSC offers a wide range of free and confidential services including a 24-hour hotline for information and referral, crisis intervention, supportive couseling or a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. Other free services include supportive options counseling, individual and group counseling for residents and non-residents, advocacy, court advocacy and accompaniment related to Protection From Abuse Orders, community outreach and education, life skills and parenting training, medical and mental health advocacy and trainings for professionals.

Luzerne County Sheriff's Department (Protection From Abuse "PFA" Division):
The PFA Division of the Luzerne County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the timely service of Protection from Abuse Orders. The Division serves PFAs filed in Luzerne County, as well as those deputized from out of county. The Division is also responsible for the collection of fees for service of PFAs, as ordered by the Court.
